About

Jacqueline K. Barton is Professor Emerita at the California Institute of Technology, where she served on the faculty for more than 30 years and was awarded the 2010 National Medal of Science for her discovery of new chemistry of the DNA helix. She founded GeneOhm Sciences Inc., a molecular diagnostics company later acquired by Becton, Dickinson and Company. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine and the American Philosophical Society.
